LOS ANGELES — Yesterday, at a signing ceremony in Los Angeles, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed two new laws to cut red tape and support struggling restaurants across California. These new laws were authored by Assemblymember Buffy Wicks (D-Oakland) and Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel (D-Encino). 

SACRAMENTO — Governor Gavin Newsom today signed AB 1340 (Wicks, Berman) into law, marking a historic milestone for California’s gig economy and the hundreds of thousands of drivers who power it.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Buffy Wicks (D-Oakland) today announced growing support from major technology companies and children’s advocacy organizations for her landmark legislation the Digital Age Assurance Act (AB 1043), which would establish a secure, privacy-first framework for age assurance on digital platforms.

SACRAMENTO – This week the California State Legislature passed two bills by Assemblymembers Buffy Wicks (D-Oakland) and Jesse Gabriel (D-Encino) to support California’s restaurant industry.
