El Cerrito City Hall
United States

Every year, we’re reminded of just how devastating wildfire season can be in California. From loss of life and property to long-term community disruption, these disasters are becoming more frequent and more destructive — and we need to be ready.
That’s why I’m inviting you to join me on Saturday, August 16 for a Wildfire Preparedness Day at El Cerrito City Hall. This free, family-friendly event will bring together experts, local agencies, and community partners from across Assembly District 14 to help you get the information, tools, and support you need to prepare for wildfire risks in your neighborhood.
We’ll cover everything from evacuation planning and property hardening to insurance issues and interagency coordination. You’ll hear from leaders at the Department of Insurance, an expert in fire-safe landscape architecture, Berkeley’s Office of Emergency Services, and fire departments throughout the region — with opportunities to ask questions and take action.
Whether you live in a high-risk area or just want to be better prepared, this event is designed with you in mind. Bring your questions, your family, and your neighbors — and let’s work together to build a more fire-resilient AD-14.
