Grayson Bill to Reduce Wildfire Risk Signed Into Law by Governor

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Governor Edmund G. Brown, Jr. signed AB 2091, authored by Assemblymember Timothy S. Grayson (D-Concord), into law.

California is incredibly fortunate to be the home of many world-class firefighters, however, it is incumbent on us in the Legislature to produce legislation that will reduce the need for these brave women and men to put themselves in danger fighting off flames,” said Assemblymember Grayson. “AB 2091 is a proactive measure to ensure that our communities are able to implement best practices to protect families and homes from wildfires before they are started.”

The state of California in general and the Bay Area in particular have a housing crisis, but you wouldn’t know it from the journey AB2923 has had through the state Legislature.

This bill, which was introduced by Assemblyman David Chiu, D-San Francisco, and Tim Grayson, D-Concord, offers a simple way to add badly needed new housing where the Bay Area needs it most.
